Lusail Project
The AH group has been involved in several large development projects in the Lusail area over the last few years. Including the construction of the new LRT Station and future Lusail Towers & Plaza. But the showpiece of the development in the area is of course the new Lusail Stadium.
It is set to be the largest stadium and centrepiece venue, for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Not only will this stadium host the opening match of the tournament but the prestigious final will also be played out in what will become an iconic sporting venue.
The design of the stadium has been optimised to provide a world-class spectator experience, with luxurious VIP hospitality facilities, and an unforgettable atmosphere deserved of the first ever FIFA World Cup in the Middle East. We’re sure spectators will love the area and have a wonderful experience.
The team have been involved in providing various Fasteners, Connectors and Anchors. The vast majority supplied in either SS316L or HDG grade 8.8. We wanted to guarantee we were providing the best fastening solutions ensuring quality and safety were at the forefront of every decision. Knowing there would be an influx of 80,000+ people soon within the stadium and surrounding developments we had to specify the right material grades at every stage and ensure all required testing was attained.
The roof is close to being raised on the stadium and the whole Lusail development is set to be completed later next year. We may have delivered our last products to site but our input does not end here as we will continue to be involved in ongoing development around the site and inspection of our products throughout the years. Our focus will now shift towards the Lusail Towers which will be at the heart of Lusail’s financial district.
At AH we have become accustomed to working on projects of this scale however the Lusail development has been one of real joy to see progress. Knowing the worlds eyes will be set on this area in the coming years, it has been honour for the team to involved.
